Reviews for Jatra Biroti
Review highlights
Based on 3,875 reviewsJatra Biroti is widely appreciated for its charming ambiance, open seating arrangement, and authentic Bengali cuisine, particularly favored by those seeking vegetarian options. The restaurant’s aesthetic appeal and occasional live music, especially on Thursdays, contribute positively to the overall dining experience. However, a recurring concern involves the presence of mosquitoes, which some customers find detracts from their visit. Pricing is another frequent point of feedback, with several patrons considering the cost relatively high compared to homemade equivalents and local standards. Additionally, limited restroom facilities and occasional crowd noise have been noted. Despite these drawbacks, Jatra Biroti remains a popular destination for a relaxed, culturally rich brunch experience in Dhaka.
Absolutely lovely time spent with my friends in a peaceful and cozy setting. We enjoyed some delicious ginger tea and great conversation. The only downside was the presence of mosquitoes, so I’d recommend bringing some repellent just in case. Other than that, a wonderful experience!
Good place if you want to have vegetarian bengali food (However, the pricing is slightly higher, if you compare the price per serving if you had the same dish made at home). Its open space, and I personally liked the flooring sitting arrangement.
Food quality is good but the price is awful. The ambiance is good, people smoking their heart out and stating out loud the freedom they miss. A live music session is seen on Thursday. They have a boutique shop of various items with the tag of pure bengali vibe and production and again, awful pricing. Street parking is available if your luck is favoured, single unisex restroom for the restaurant with no tissue but a towel only. Vegan
Visited 'Jatra Biroti' last Wednesday during my trip to Bangladesh, a place I'd been eager to explore for two years! The ambiance was stunning, with an aesthetic charm that was a treat to the eyes. The food was equally impressive, and we indulged in all six iftar platters and few more items from the menu. However, the only drawback was the mosquito issue, which the management should address. On a positive note, the adjacent craft store, 'Jatra World', was a treasure trove of beautiful Bangladeshi art and crafts, showcasing the work of talented artisans from across the country. I appreciated the initiative to promote local art. We picked up some lovely notebooks from @jothashilpa, and I'm grateful to have discovered this wonderful collection under one roof.
